Max-Torque's 2019-redesign Draggin Skin clutch splits into two serviceable assemblies — a billet shoe assembly (bonded modern friction lining) and a trued/trimmed stamped drum — built specifically for the Briggs LO206 spec class.

Spring color is only a starting point -- real engagement rpm also shifts with driver/kart weight, your class's rules, axle speed, gear ratio, and how many heat cycles are already on this exact spring and clutch. Treat every number below as something to test and confirm on your own kart, not a guarantee.

Optional weight kits lower engagement further for any spring color: six 7-gram weights drop engagement ~300 RPM; six 10-gram weights drop it ~500 RPM. Max-Torque recommends placing weights in the “A” and “C” shoe positions.
What Makes Draggin Skin (LO206) Distinctive
Max-Torque's own 2019 redesign literature stresses a strict break-in: run the clutch 10 minutes on the kart (varying speed, no stop-and-go, no brake-torquing the engine) before touching spring or weight setup, so the shoes radius evenly to the drum. Shoe positions are marked A, B, and C — position B always touches the drum first, so Max-Torque recommends running B's strongest spring/weight combo there, and all three shoes must use the same combination or engagement becomes inconsistent.
Common Problems to Watch For
The maintenance sheet is explicit about chemical compatibility: only a light finger-coat of 30-weight oil on the bushing after a weekend of racing, never acetone/starting fluid/carb cleaner (they strip absorbed oil), and unused sprockets/bushings should be stored in plastic rather than loose. It also flags a subtle failure mode — chain oil overspray drawn in through the drum's cooling holes will glaze the friction surfaces and cause inconsistent engagement, so oil your chain with the engine off, after the session is done.
