Titan is Premier's 3-shoe cartridge clutch built for Briggs World Formula/Animal engines (10–15 hp) as well as LO206/Clone applications, offered in both 1″ and 3/4″ bore with a wide spring color range.

Spring color is only a starting point -- real engagement rpm also shifts with driver/kart weight, your class's rules, axle speed, gear ratio, and how many heat cycles are already on this exact spring and clutch. Treat every number below as something to test and confirm on your own kart, not a guarantee.

What Makes Titan (World Formula / Animal / LO206-Clone) Distinctive
Premier/Nor-Am's own Titan spec pages list 5 spring colors for the 1″ bore (Blue through Orange, roughly 2900–4300 RPM) and only Orange for the 3/4″ bore, with the APTP1314 hub specifically built for the Briggs World Formula racing class.
Common Problems to Watch For
World Formula racers on 4cycle.com consistently say to match spring choice to the engine's actual peak-torque band (roughly 4500–5500 RPM for a WF) rather than defaulting to stock Orange without checking — one detailed thread describes a racer whose Blue (3100 RPM) spring caused the engine to “cough and sputter” off the grid because engagement was set far below the engine's actual power band.

Both springs in the clutch must be the same color — never mix. Stinger comes assembled with Orange from the factory.
⚠️ One 4cycle.com thread reports a brand-new Stinger engaging roughly 500 RPM below its spring's rated chart value — always verify actual lockup on track, not just against the printed chart.
What Makes Stinger (4-Cycle Racing) Distinctive
Premier's own install manual documents the Stinger as directional and field-convertible: it ships assembled for inboard mounting, and switching to outboard requires removing the snap ring, pulling the cartridge, reversing the inside/outside plates, and reassembling per the drawing — the mounting bolt torque spec is explicitly 225 in-lb (25 N·m).
Common Problems to Watch For
A Stinger-specific 4cycle.com thread describes a brand-new clutch engaging roughly 500 RPM lower than its spring's rated chart value; the responding advice was to verify real lockup on track (not on a stand) before assuming a defect, since the printed chart may be a chatter number rather than true lockup — consistent with what Nor-Am/Hilliard owners report about their own charts. Premier's manual itself also warns never to run the clutch with the drum, snap rings, or covers removed — the shoes can become unattached.
