Alpinestars Cooling Vest
Alpinestars Cooling Vest
Couldn't load pickup availability
The Alpinestars Cooling Vest is a heat layer for hot 4 cycle racing, including Briggs LO206 sessions where the suit is already doing its job and you still need to cool your core. It is not a race suit and it is not a winter shirt.
The cooling system is a refillable water chamber that releases moisture as you drive, to regulate temperature. To refill it, detach the chamber, fill it with water, and reattach it. The product notes say the effect lasts for hours depending on conditions, then you refill. It does not describe ice packs or a pump. Do not treat it like a powered cooler.
The vest is a three-layer textile with a moisture-wicking fleece lining. Stretch inserts on the sides are there for a close fit so the vest does not bunch under a suit. Ventilation ports are placed for airflow. The lining is described as anti-bacterial, and the vest is machine-washable. It is meant to be light. Sizes cover a range of body types. Use the size chart. A loose vest will not put the wet layer on your core, and a tight one will fight the suit.
You can wear it under racing gear. Get the suit off between sessions when you can. The suit itself is not a cooling system. This vest is the layer that adds the water chamber and the vents while you are still in the seat. It does not replace water, shade, or taking the suit down when the schedule allows.
There is no sibling cooler linked on this page. The Ride Tech pieces in the underlayer collection are the winter shirt and pants, built for cold, not for a water chamber. Use this vest when the session is hot and you want that refillable layer under the suit.
Swift Karting lists it as a cooling layer for hot Briggs LO206 weekends.
