Elite Wireless Digital Scales for Kart Weight and Balance
SKU: 82630
- Features at bottom of page, but here is a awesome guide on scaling a kart. Step by step.
How to Set Up and Use the Elite Wireless Digital Scales
1. Prepare the Kart
- Place the kart on a level floor.
- Fill the fuel tank to your normal practice amount.
- Install the seat, battery, bodywork, and anything else you normally race with.
- Set tire pressures to your normal starting pressures.
- Make sure nothing touches the ground except the tires.
- Remove or adjust anything that might rub on the scales, such as a low chain guard.
2. Prepare the Scales
- Turn on all four wireless pads.
- Confirm that each pad connects to the display.
- Place each pad on the floor in a neat rectangle matching your wheel spacing.
- Make sure every pad sits flat and does not rock.
- Zero all pads so they read 0.00 before placing the kart on them.
3. Position the Kart on the Scales
- Lift the kart and center each wheel on its pad.
- Check that no part of the chassis is touching the floor or frame of the scales.
- Point the steering wheel straight ahead.
- If you scale with the driver in the seat, have the driver sit in a normal driving position with feet in the pedals and back fully in the seat.
4. Read the Weights
The display will show:
- Left front (LF) weight
- Right front (RF) weight
- Left rear (LR) weight
- Right rear (RR) weight
- Total kart weight
- Front percentage
- Rear percentage
- Left percentage
- Right percentage
- Cross weight percentage
Typical LO206 Baseline Targets
- Front: 42 to 44 percent
- Rear: 56 to 58 percent
- Left: 49 to 51 percent
- Right: within one percent of left
- Cross: 49 to 51 percent
5. Adjusting the Kart
Most balance changes are made with seat position and sometimes track widths.
Adjust Front to Rear Weight
- Move the seat forward to increase front weight.
- Move the seat rearward to increase rear weight.
Adjust Left to Right Weight
- Move the seat slightly to the left to add left side weight.
- Move the seat slightly to the right to add right side weight.
- Check steering column spacers and side pod hardware if the kart is not sitting square.
Adjust Cross Weight
Cross weight affects balance through corner entry and mid corner.
- Moving the seat forward usually increases cross.
- Moving the seat rearward usually reduces cross.
- Moving the seat to the left usually increases cross.
- Moving the seat to the right usually reduces cross.
Make small changes. Even a seat movement of one eighth of an inch can change percentages.
6. Recheck After Changes
- Rezero the scales if needed.
- Place the kart back on all four pads with the same driver position.
- Confirm the new front, rear, left, right, and cross percentages.
- Repeat adjustments until you reach your target numbers.
7. Final Race Check
- Recheck tire pressures before going on track.
- Make sure the fuel level matches what you used on the scales.
- Confirm nothing is touching the ground or pads.
- Use driver feedback from the first session to decide if you need small follow up changes.
Features
- Wireless connection to all four pads with stable long range signal
- High accuracy digital load cells for consistent measurements
