We personally use this rain hood at Swift Karting, and it works very good! We've never experienced water getting into our engines while using this setup. It's simple, effective, and extremely easy to install.

This rain hood drops over the stock air filter on your LO206 or Animal engine to help prevent rear tire spray, rain, and front tire splash from reaching the carburetor.

Quick and Easy Installation

Slide the base disc onto the carburetor neck behind the OEM air filter.
Reinstall the stock air filter.
Push the protective cup over the air filter.
Secure the cup using two short zip ties or one long zip tie routed through the mounting slots.
Position the opening away from the rear tire to reduce direct water spray.

That's it! Installation is fast and straightforward, making it easy to prepare your kart when unexpected rain arrives at the track.

💡 Important Considerations: Always change your engine oil after every wet session . Water that gets past even the best rain hood and enters the crankcase can contaminate the engine oil and accelerate internal engine wear. Changing your oil after wet racing is an important precaution that helps protect your Briggs engine.

Racing in the rain doesn't have to mean constantly worrying about water entering your carburetor. This is the same protective setup we personally use at Swift Karting, and we've had excellent results with it.

Rain is also one of the best training tools in karting. Practicing in wet conditions challenges drivers to develop smoother steering inputs, improve throttle control, understand changing grip levels, and become more sensitive to chassis behavior.
