LO206 Engines Built Different.. Real Development, Not Just Assembly
At Swift Karting, we don't just slap parts together and call it a day. We profile every cam, flow bench every head and carb, and dyno test like our national-level customers depend on it.. because they do. While other builders are busy assembling engines for a handful of big-name racers to make their brand look good, we're in the lab every day turning data into wins for kids, juniors, and adults across the country.
Build Your National-Level LO206 Engine NowHere's What Sets Us Apart From Other LO206 Engine Builders
Most shops out there are just assemblers. They take a stock bottom end, bolt on some parts, and ship it out. Sure, they might build a couple of killer motors for their sponsored guys so the brand looks strong on the podium.. but the rest of the customers get whatever rolls off the bench.
We do things different. Every single engine that leaves our shop in Whiteland, Indiana, goes through our full Swift Karting Development Lab process. We run a professional flow bench to map intake and exhaust airflow, measure port velocity, valve seat profiles, and chamber volume. Then we hit the highly precise dyno to log real torque curves, horsepower, fuel consumption, and clutch engagement across the entire RPM range. No guessing. No "close enough."
This is how we stack small legal gains that actually move the needle.. while staying 100% inside the Briggs rulebook.
We See What Nobody Else Sees
For years our head engine builder has been hired to run technical inspection at major events.. CKNA, MCC, K1, SIRA, and more. He tears down engines from every builder in the country.. every single weekend. We know exactly what everyone else is doing.. and what they’re NOT doing.
That inside view keeps us two full years ahead of the pack. Sure, some other builders can put together a good engine when they want to.. but do they do it for every customer? No. Most racers end up with an assembled motor where the only thing touched on the carb is the float and idle air bleed. They are professional assemblers. We are builders.
Our Development Lab in Action
Check out the full story from our blog on how Mark Cerk and the MC Engines crew turned the Swift Karting Development Lab into a racer-focused testing ground.. flow bench, dyno, digital gauges, and relentless track validation at places like NCMP and Whiteland Raceway Park.

Our Proprietary Development Edge
There’s much more happening in our LO206 engines than we can publicly share.
We’ve discovered three major proprietary advantages through years of private testing and real track development. These are closely guarded secrets that most other engine builders still haven’t found.
We’re happy to give serious racers hints when they ask.. but the biggest proof isn’t written on this page. It shows up on the track. We guarantee it.
Cam Profiling.. The Real Difference Maker
Every engine that hits our bench gets a full cam profile measurement right away. We don't just grab whatever cam is in the box. We hand-select from the entire legal range (105 to 107.5) based on your exact class, kart weight, slide color, and home track layout.
Most engine builders won't tell you this.. but moving from one end of the cam spectrum to the other can shift your torque window 300-500 RPM earlier or later. That's huge when you're trying to get off the corner on a big, fast track like New Castle Motorsports Park (home of the CKNA Grand Nationals) versus a tight Mickey Mouse layout.
We use the same LO206 Cam Profile Worksheet for every motor in the shop.. you can download it free right here on our site.
Grab the Cam Profile Worksheet + 20+ More LO206 ResourcesOur Hand-Picking Option.. Bigger Pool, Better Match for You
We buy extra bottom ends, heads, and carbs so we have a much larger selection to choose from. You pay a small restocking fee on anything we set aside, but it lets us build you a motor that's truly tailored instead of "whatever was next in line."
This is how we can deliver a perfect package whether you're running Kid Kart on green or red slide, or Adult black slide on a monster track or a tight one. We actually have a use for the whole cam range because we're building for real racers every weekend.. not just chasing podium photos for marketing.
Result? Engines that make power where you need it and stay reliable all season long.
What Actually Happens When We Build Your LO206
- 1. Full Cam Profiling & Selection.. measured and matched to your class, weight, and track.
- 2. Flow Bench Matching.. carb, intake, and head are flowed and matched for smooth airflow (about 70% of parts get set aside if they don't hit our standards).
- 3. Precision Valve Work & Head Decking.. for perfect sealing and consistent chamber volume within rules.
- 4. Dyno Testing.. every engine gets real-world power curves logged so you know exactly what you're getting.
- 5. Class-Specific Tuning.. ignition timing, carb jetting, and clutch setup optimized for your slide color and racing style.
And that’s just what we CAN talk about publicly.
Beyond these steps we have three major proprietary advantages we’ve developed through years of private testing and real track data. These are closely guarded secrets that stay in-house. Serious racers who reach out usually get a hint or two.. but the biggest proof isn’t on any spec sheet. You’ll feel it the second you hit the track. We guarantee it.
