Metric axle bearings are rolling-element bearings sized to metric kart axle diameters (commonly 25 mm, 30 mm, 40 mm, and 50 mm) so the axle can rotate in the bearing carrier or hubs with low friction. Free-spin versions are used where the axle must turn independently of a hub or carrier rather than drive it.
