3D Printed Heel Rest Support for Go-Kart Pedals
3D Printed Heel Rest Support for Go-Kart Pedals
Couldn't load pickup availability
Improve your kart control with a heel rest designed to give your foot a stable point of support during braking, acceleration, and cornering. Available in three versions to accommodate different driver preferences and mounting requirements.
Quantity: This listing includes ONE heel rest. Mounting hardware is not included.
Why Is a Heel Rest Important in Kart Racing?
A properly positioned heel rest does much more than keep your foot from sliding around the floorpan. It gives the driver a solid point to push against, helping stabilize their body and maintain precise steering inputs.
Many experienced kart racers depend on their heel rest to generate additional support when cornering. By applying pressure through your heel, you can help stabilize your lower body rather than relying entirely on your arms and steering wheel for support.
This additional stability can help you maintain a firm, controlled grip on the steering wheel, make more precise steering adjustments, and reduce unnecessary movement when the kart experiences high cornering forces.
A secure heel position can also improve consistency when operating the throttle and brake pedals. Having a dependable point of contact is especially useful during long races, demanding corners, and technical sections where small steering corrections matter.
Technical Specifications
Choose from three available designs. Each version has its own dimensions and construction.
V1 Thick
- Heel Contact Face Width: 85 mm, measured between the curved edges
- Heel Contact Face Height: 33 mm
- Overall Width: 100 mm
- Overall Depth: 34 mm
- Overall Height: 33 mm
- Mounting Holes: 2 holes, 3 mm diameter
- Mounting Hole Spacing: 60 mm, center to center
- Material Thickness at Mounting Holes: 8 mm
- Suggested Bolt Size: M2.5, subject to fit verification
- Material: 3D-Printed Plastic
The V1 Thick features a substantial mounting area with 8 mm of material thickness at the bolt holes. Its curved edges provide a defined contact area for positioning your heel.
V2
The V2 offers an alternative heel rest design. Refer to the product images for its shape and configuration.
- Material: 3D-Printed Plastic
- Mounting: Dual mounting points for floorpan installation
V3 Reinforced (MOST POPULAR)
- Heel Contact Face Width: 95 mm
- Heel Contact Face Height: 30 mm
- Overall Width: 100 mm
- Overall Depth: 29 mm
- Overall Height: 30 mm
- Mounting Holes: 2 holes, 2.5 mm opening width
- Mounting Hole Spacing: 55 mm, center to center
- Material Thickness at Mounting Holes: 5 mm
- Suggested Bolt Size: M2, subject to fit verification
- Material: 3D-Printed Plastic
The V3 Reinforced features a 95 mm wide heel contact surface and a more compact 29 mm overall depth. Its reinforced design provides a stable contact point while maintaining a compact footprint in the kart's pedal area.
V1 Thick and V3 Reinforced have different mounting hole dimensions and center-to-center spacing.
Check your floorpan and available mounting locations before ordering. The printed dimensions should also be verified before purchasing mounting hardware.
Installation and Mounting
The heel rest mounts directly to your kart's floorpan near the foot pedals using two mounting holes.
Position the heel rest where your foot naturally rests and where you can comfortably apply pressure without interfering with throttle or brake operation.
Each version has different mounting requirements. Select bolts that fit the mounting holes and are long enough to accommodate the heel rest, floorpan, washers, and locking hardware.
For additional karting components, see our kart mounting hardware . Verify dimensions before ordering because the linked 8 mm hardware is not the recommended size for the mounting holes listed above.
- Always verify the mounting hole dimensions before installation.
- Use correctly sized bolts, washers, and appropriate locking hardware.
- Do not overtighten bolts or damage the 3D-printed mounting tabs.
- Make sure the heel rest cannot interfere with either pedal.
- Confirm that the driver can operate the throttle and brake through their full range of motion.
- Inspect the heel rest for cracks, damage, and loose mounting hardware before every racing session.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many heel rests are included?
Each purchase includes ONE heel rest in your selected version. Mounting hardware is sold separately.
What is the difference between V1 Thick and V3 Reinforced?
V1 Thick has an 85 mm wide heel contact face, measures 100 mm wide by 34 mm deep by 33 mm tall, and has 3 mm mounting holes spaced 60 mm apart. The material at its mounting holes is 8 mm thick.
V3 Reinforced has a 95 mm wide heel contact face, measures 100 mm wide by 29 mm deep by 30 mm tall, and has 2.5 mm mounting hole openings spaced 55 mm apart. The material at its mounting holes is 5 mm thick.
What size bolts do I need?
Based on the specified hole dimensions, V1 Thick is expected to accommodate M2.5 mounting bolts, while V3 Reinforced is expected to accommodate M2 bolts.
These are suggested sizes. Verify the actual hole dimensions and bolt fit before installation. Bolt length depends on the floorpan thickness, mounting hardware, and selected heel rest.
Will this heel rest fit my go-kart chassis?
The heel rests are designed for installation in the floorpan pedal area of go-karts.
Fitment depends on your chassis, floorpan configuration, existing mounting holes, and pedal arrangement. Compare the specifications of your selected version against your kart before ordering.
How does a heel rest improve steering control?
A heel rest provides a stable surface that the driver can push against with their heel.
This helps brace the lower body, reducing the need to use the steering wheel for physical support. With a more stable driving position, the driver can focus on making smoother and more precise steering inputs.
Can a heel rest help with driver fatigue?
A properly positioned heel rest may help reduce unnecessary movement and improve lower-body support. This can make maintaining a consistent driving position easier during longer racing sessions.
How do I install the heel rest?
Position the heel rest on the floorpan near your pedals. Confirm that the location is comfortable and does not restrict pedal movement.
Secure both mounting points using correctly sized hardware and verify that the heel rest remains firmly attached before driving.
Is this heel rest suitable for regular racing?
The heel rest is 3D-printed in-house for karting applications. Actual durability depends on installation, loading conditions, and regular inspection.
Inspect the printed material and mounting points before every racing session. Replace the heel rest if you notice cracks, deformation, or other damage.
